There’s something incredibly special about photographing a horse and rider who share a deep bond—and our recent black background session with Elizabeth Priddy and her horse Jeremiah 29 Eleven (“Jay”) was exactly that kind of magic.
Held at her private farmstead in beautiful Franklin, Tennessee, this equine portrait session captured not just a striking horse—but a story of passion, partnership, and purpose.
Elizabeth’s love for horses started early. She began taking riding lessons in middle school, first as an eventer and eventually transitioning to the elegance of dressage. Her journey with horses has been lifelong—and her relationship with Jay is one of her most meaningful chapters yet.
Jay is a 10-year-old imported Danish Warmblood gelding who stands an impressive 18.1 hands high. His sire is Negro, making him a brother to the legendary Valegro—the Olympic and World Champion ridden by Charlotte Dujardin. While Jay may not have Blueberry’s blue ribbons (yet!), he shares the same regal bearing, athleticism, and gentle spirit.
Jay’s personality is what truly shines: he’s kind, willing, and full of heart—though Elizabeth will be the first to tell you he has a stubborn streak that keeps her on her toes. That personality is exactly what makes their relationship so rich.
Elizabeth has owned Jay for three years and currently rides 2nd Level Dressage. They’ve already qualified for the Regional Championships and will be competing in St. Louis this year. But for Elizabeth, the partnership is what matters most. Jay continues to teach her patience, presence, and perseverance—lessons far more meaningful than any ribbon.
Photographing Jay in our signature black background style allowed his powerful frame, soulful eyes, and expressive nature to take center stage. Standing proudly in the barn aisle at their farm in Franklin, TN, Jay radiated grace and confidence. These portraits are now part of Elizabeth’s legacy—a way to honor a horse who has changed her life.
