I recently had the pleasure of photographing Rebecca Anderton of Brownland Horse Farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Not only is Rebecca a talented amateur rider, but she also plays a vital role behind the scenes—managing the prestigious horse shows hosted at Brownland Farm.
Rebecca’s passion for horses began when she was just three years old, inspired by her mother’s love for riding. Since then, horses have been a constant thread in her life, shaping both her career and personal pursuits.
Her current partner, Bromance, is a beautiful 10-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding she imported from the Netherlands. Rebecca describes him as “the most consistently winning horse I’ve ever had.” And she’s not exaggerating—the pair almost always walk away with either Champion or Reserve Champion at their shows.
This year, Rebecca and Bromance have earned a coveted qualification for the USHJA Amateur Hunter Championshipsin Lexington, Kentucky, to be held in September—a historic first for the event.
When she’s not overseeing the bustling show schedule at Brownland Farm, Rebecca heads south for the winter season, training and competing under the guidance of David Jennings of Full Circle Farm in Ocala, Florida. The pair have been working together for years, refining her skills and keeping Bromance at the top of his game.
Rebecca has owned Bromance for four years, and their connection is evident both in and out of the ring. Watching them work together is a reminder of the dedication, trust, and joy that define the bond between horse and rider.
